Dom Perignon is a brand of Champagne produced by Moët & Chandon.
Dom Perignon was the first prestige cuvee, named in honor of Benedictine monk Pierre Perignon, who supposedly invented champagne method for the production of sparkling wines. Dom Perignon Prestige Cuvee is millesime champagne that produce from grapes of the vintage year specified on the bottle, and, as a rule, it is an outstanding year.
Moët & Chandon first released its elite champagne in 1936, beginning with the brilliant 1921 vintage. Precious few bottles exist today.
1928 was one of the greatest of all champagne vintages. The other great Dom Pérignon vintages include the 1955, 1959, 1961, 1964, 1966, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1995, and 1996.

For the production of Dom Pérignon is used vintage from vineyards communes Grand Cru and Premier Cru and vineyards of the champagne Lanson house.
Around 200 thousand boxes (5 million bottles) of Dom Perignon is produced in declared vintage year. The wine is 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir. Dom Perignon is aged in bottles for at least 12 months.
In September 2008, Moët & Chandon presented an exclusive set of «Stolen Kisses by Sylvie Fleury», consisting of the bottle of rose champagne of the 1998 vintage, and two crystal glasses with seductive lipstick imprints. The set was created in collaboration with renowned Swiss architect and designer Sylvie Fleury in the number of 999 numbered copies.
By Christmas 2007, presented an exclusive set of «Dom Perignon Rose Guitar Case by Karl Lagerfeld», consisting of six bottles of rose champagne and crystal glasses of the three as they sat in the guitar case, decorated Germany’s famous designer Karl Lagerfeld. You also get a pink color, guitar case, skilfully transformed into a pouch for six bottles of champagne and three glasses, made by hand and covered with leather perch outside, but inside – lamb skin. The collection consists of six bottles of rose wine a few crops, namely, three bottles of the 1996 vintage, two bottles of the 1986 vintage and one bottle of the 1966 vintage. The approximate price of the set is 100 thousand euros.
Cuvée Dom Pérignon remains one of the great Champagnes, worthy of its price tag.
